Working on composition with frost

One area where I think I really need to work on is my compositions.  I have been reading several books lately on composition and when I noticed this weekend that there was frost on the ground, I decided to step outside and see what I could put together.

All of these were shot with my MP-E 65 and MT-24EX flash.  I was very deliberate about the layouts within the shots.  In terms of my opinion about them, I think I like them in the order presented here.  What do you think?

  1. The Second Shot is my favorite! :)

  2. I like these shots- Great photos are all about great composition. I can see that you were consciously trying to come up with something different and more visually interesting than what you’ve posted before. Well done.

  3. I’ve always wondered if the guidelines on good composition change in a similar fashion to our views on what is considered beauty.
