My photography goals for this year

After much thought, I have decided to make my photography goals for this year public. My hope is these goals will help me become a better photographer.

Vision

  1. Start keeping a photography notebook
  2. Take a new type of photography at least once a month
  3. Take at least five landscape groups
  4. Participate in at least six photo outings

Online

  1. Continue with this blog, posting at least five times a week
  2. Over half of all photos on blog are taken in the last week
  3. Join at least two online photography communities and contribute regularly

Knowledge

  1. Sign up for video courses on Photoshop and go through several courses
  2. Start using printer profiles when printing
  3. Print at least one extra large image good enough to display in the home
  4. Lead at least one class on macro photography at my work

Equipment

  1. Purchase the Canon 180L and take more pictures of bees and dragonflies
  2. Purchase a neutral density filter and take more pictures of moving water

Microstock

  1. Double my Shutterstock portfolio to at least 700 images
  2. Double my sales by the end of the year

    Really impressed by your photography. Rather grey here in England at the moment and I am longing for warm sunny days to get out photographing butterfly and dragonfly. I have taken a series of photographs of moving water recently, and wonder if I will be able to combine both. I came to your blog via Monarch’s blog, which has become a favourite.   2. Wow, that is a pretty sweet list. I’d love to have the Canon 180 as well. I just picked up the EF-S 60 mm macro a few days ago and can’t wait for the insects to start flying. Have a great year……..
